Is it possible to find pictures of famous people with no copyright?

I am writing an article about Parkinsons, and I am trying to find photos of Michael J Fox, The pope Juan Pablo II and Muhammed Ali........is it going to be impossible for me to find copyrght free pics...how do I get permission to use the pics?

Since Fox is an advocate for Parkinson research, his publicist might be able to provide you with standard publicity photos and a release for their use.
