when I get nervous, I tend to stutter more, I have learned over the years if I control my breathing and try hard not to begin the next word with a word starting with the letter "W" or "D", I'd survive the conversation. If there is no choice and I have to read something with the letters "W or D", I try to take a breath right before the word prior to the "W or D" word. It takes a lot of practice. But you learn what to do to survive.
