Hiccups are caused by too much air in your lungs. Cures are, getting scarred, eating sugar, holding your breath and breathing into a paper bag.

I just read that too!!!! .. try having someone take your pulse. I found out about it last year and I've tried it on a LOT of people and it works 90% of the time. I'm not sure if it's because it takes the person's mind of the hiccups or what.

My friends mother is a nurse and she says that hiccups come from lack of oxygen in the lungs. To get rid of them she says to rub your earlobe and it goes away! It really works!

I used to think that it was a spasm, that would just go away. But there was a chic on the Today show who has had hic-ups nonstop for 3 weeks. She was on this morning.
