The pieces of fruit are solids.
They sit in a liquid.
The area in the bowl that is not fruit or liquid (the part that looks empty) is filled with air, the gas.

1) A mixture contains two or more components which are evenly distributed but are separable - The fruit salad contains different fruit pieces which are separable.
Note: This property separates mixtures from a chemical compound or a solution.

2) A mixture may contain more than one phase - The fruit salad contains solids, may be cream and some liquid

3) A mixture may or may not be uniform in its composition at all places in its volume - The fruit salad may contain clusters of one fruit at a few places and another at other place.

I hope the above helps.
