1. Well, it's your call. There's a great deal of subjectivity involved here, so there's no right answer, just many potential good answers. So relax and be inspired.

2. You'd better include some obvious ones: Thomas Jefferson (for the declaration of independence), and Martin Luther King (for civil rights). They'd count as intellectuals.

3. One artist could be Billie Holiday for her voice, inspiration to other singers, and her personal struggle against discrimination.

4. There you go, that's 25% done already, and quality names. You just need to do some thinking yourself, and voila, completed!
