To be a politician you have to abandon any principals you may have had such as morality or honesty and join the Mendacity Club. Politicians on being elected automatically become life members of this elite organisation. Mandelson on being 'sacked' and that word does not have the same meaning in politics as it does to the rest of us was found a nice billet in the EU by his chum Anthony Bliar where he could make more money than he ever could have done even in this rotten government. Sorry is not in the political dictionary.

Oh dear, it's chip on shoulder time again.
A number of ministers have been sacked, others have resigned for a variety of reasons.
I think I'm right in saying that the 2nd time Peter Mandleson resigned it was subsequently proved that he had done nothing wrong - and to be fair, the first time he went was for, in the big scale of things, a pretty minor mistake. He was also regarded by his Civil Servants as being a very able minister. Also he is an EU commissioner.
And lets not forget, the sacking/resigning issue applies to all parties. The trick is not to get caught - like john Major who lied to his wife.

Most Labour politicians get transferred to other departments while stay where they are so that they can do further damage to their respective department. As far as their saying sorry, that is said only after they get caught in the act.

Sack! Wash your mouth out. Tony never sacks any of his cronies!
We may not have liked Thatcher, But at least she wasn't afraid to get rid of her ministers if they did wrong. And it was a few years before they were redeemed by her.

No, Blair has never sacked anyone because he has never wanted to end up like Thatcher, being stabbed in the back, that is because he is really spineless in character. You only have to look at Prescott's situation to see it.

They get a smack on the wrist, sent to the back benches for a few months so they can still claim their expenses and before too long they are back on the front bench sitting there like the cats that got the cream, and they did !!!!
