I'd guess that Pablo is more famous. It all depends on the group you are asking. Certainly, among literate groups (by this I mean people who read a lot, not just people who can) Gabriel Garcia Marquez is well known. For those who follow the national news and other popular media, I'd say Pablo Escobar is. Since there are more people tuning into the news and radio, Pablo would be more famous.
