The reason I ask is the start of the song "Sun King"...where John Lennon intones..."here come the sun.....king" how lame and obvious is that compared to "here comes the sun"

I don't know. John Lennon was kind of a messed up guy. He has to be my least favorite Beatle. He should have been jealous cause George Harrison was AMAZING, but John was all messed up with Yoko. I think he was just running out of songs to write, so he had to copy a little.

If you've only heard those two songs, how can you say you're not a Ringo fan...? Paul McCartney - Band on the Run, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, Listen to What the Man Said, Live and Let Die, Maybe I'm Amazed, Jet, Hi, Hi, Hi, Give Ireland Back to the Irish, My Love, Another Day, Silly Love Songs, Bluebird, Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five John Lennon - Instant Karma, #9 Dream, Just Like Starting Over, Watching the Wheels, Mind Games, Jealous Guy, Stand By Me, Working Class Hero, Mother, God, Oh Yoko!, Oh My Love, Nobody Told Me, Woman, Happy Xmas (War is Over), Whatever Gets You Thru the Night, Woman is the N*gg*r of the World, Isolation, Cold Turkey, Give Peace a Chance, Real Love, Gimme Some Truth, Love, How Do You Sleep? George Harrison - Got My Mind Set On You, Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth), Dark Horse, Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp, All Things Must Past, What is Life, Any Road, This is Love, All Those Years Ago, Marwa Blues, When We Was Fab, Blow Away, Cheer Down, Isn't it a Pity To Honorary Walrus: Yes, "Got My Mind Set On You" was a George Harrison song.... To Honorary Walrus: So I suppose "All Along the Watchtower" isn't a Jimi Hendrix song and "Respect" isn't an Aretha Franklin song?

In my opinion, no, at least not much. Each of the fab four had their own special quality, even Ringo, bless him. I'm sure they all had big egos too, and John was probably too wrapped up in his own songs to be flustered by anything George did. And i kinda like Sun king, though obviously there's no comparison to here comes the sun.

Throughout many of John's songs with and without the Beatles, he alluded to one of the other member's songs/writings. For instance, in "Glass Onion" John says ""Here's another clue for you all, the walrus was Paul." And yes, it seems that they would all take shots at each other. In George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" album, the song "Wah-Wah" is about Paul, when things where going downhill with the Beatles. In Ringo's song "Early 1970," Ringo sings "...Layin in bed watching TV (inaudible yell) with his mama by his side, she's japanese. They screamed and they cried now they're free!...He's a long haired cross-legged guitar picker..." Now who could he be singing about? Sounds like Lennon. But John, George, and Ringo collaborated with each other on many occasions. George played an co-wrote some of Ringo's songs. Ringo played in many of George's songs on "All Things Must Pass," and he appeared in Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh. John actually played in "If Not For You" on Harrison's "All Things Must Pass." Paul pretty much was out of the post-Beatle loop. This from Wikipedia: (George) "...telling the press in 1974 that while he would not mind working with Lennon and Starr again, he could not see himself being involved in a band with McCartney, who had limited his contributions while in the Beatles. He told the press that if someone wanted to hear Beatles-style music, they could "go listen to Wings," McCartney's new band."

Isn't why they broke up? Jealousy of one another? They all wanted to do different things with the group? Oh right it was all yoko ono's fault. B!@#!
