Not, and I'll explain why: McNabb choked in 3 NFC championship games (2001-3) and then joined thousands of Philly fans when he puked repeatedly in the 4th quarter of Phillys infamous 2004 Super Bowl loss vs. the Patriots. The fans puked because of his 4th quarter red zone INT; he probably puked because he knew then what his legacy would be.
In numberous big games, McNabb has failed to lead. In the 2004 Super Bowl, T.O. played marvelously with a broken leg and then dissed McNabb for his pukish performance in the 4th Quarter. T.O. is a moron, but he was right that time.
The Garcia episode this year was just the latest evidence. A mediocre but fiery Quarterback invigorates a good Eagles team that had SIMPLY STOPPED PLAYING WITH MCNABB!! Garcia was the shot in the arm they needed. They're problem was a deadness at Quarterback.
I don't know if McNabb is a leader, I just know he's not leading his team to victories and Super Bowls anymore.

Not really. I think he's been overrated for most or his career. Coming out of Syracuse he was known as a scrambling/running quarterback and that's what made him effective. Once he got to the NFL he decided he didn't like the label or a scrambler. He hasn't be effective since. He has never produced in the big game and it seems he doesn't have the respect from his teammates. Frankly I think Jeff Garcia had the passion for the game that the rest of the team was looking for in McNabb and never saw. No, Donovan is not the leader type.

What I still dont understand is how many people distrust Donovan McNabb. Remember this is the guy that just a couple years ago took the Eagles to the Super Bowl, the same guy who until he got injured this season, was considered a candidate for the MVP.

Leader, that team rallies around him more than anybody else(except for maybe #54 Troter, but even he looks at McNabb as the true leader on the team)

I don't think skill can make you a leader. I think it puts you in the spotlight, but Randy Moss and TO have skill, but they are not leaders. I think TO tested Donovanns leadership skills and pushed them to the limits. I think he chose what was better for his team in regards to TO. I do think he is a leader and people now follow his confidence as it is improving. A leader is someone who will stride for team glory and not personal significance. Michael Vick is the opposite of a leader. A leader unstands that stats don't matter and are willing to do anything for their team. Top leaders in the NFL at position.
QB: Brett Favre(even people who hate him have to admit this)
Worst Leader: Michael Vick
RB: Tiki Barber
Worst Leader
Shaun Alexander
WR: Hines Ward, Marvin Harrison
Worst leaders
TO and Moss
Defensive leaders: Normally the best performer since no matter what it will help the team. But it normally takes confidence and charisma to lead an entire team.

mcnabb is a leader. its just the eagles that suck. that's y they have no super bowl wins. lol. you need favre or brady. they'll get a super bowl for you. by the way, maybe if the philly fans actually showed some loyalty to mcnabb, he'd want to give you guys glory. maybe he let you down on purpose for all the crap you guys gave him early in his career. eagles suck!

He is definitely a leader. He makes plays and lays it on the line. He has been hampered by injuries and a lack of playmakers on offense beside Westbrook, but Garcia is not a better quarterback or leader. Don't let eight games fool you.

He is a leader but during Super Bowl 39 he let his team down by being "tired" in the 4th quarter

A few years ago, he broke his leg in the first quarter of a game -- and stayed in the game to throw 4 TD passes en route to a victory. Most of us call in sick to work for a head cold. I'd say that makes him a leader.

He is definitely a leader ...if you watch any game he is playing in you can see the genuine rapport he has with his teammates...and he also leads on the field with his strong play.
