That entirely depends on the definition of "boyfriend". If a boyfriend is merely a boy who is somewhat closer than a female friend and is closer than a girls other male peers, fine. Physical activity should be kept to a minimum romantically, though, because 12-year-olds have no business playing around with getting pregnant. 12-year-old boys also don't all have the wherewithal to not humiliate FORMER girlfriends with whatever transpired between them in private.

Sureee.... why not? I mean you might 'think' you ♥ someone but a 12 year old doesn't really know what love is... so sure... they can have boyfriends, just don't be surprised when it doesn't last. I think 14 or late 13 is a good age, but you still don't have the full definition of love... although in some cases, people do stay together forever!!!
GOOD LUCK (but I don't know if this is about you or someone else)

I dont think it matter what age you start to date these days. Its because dating is different for all age groups. When i was 12 (im 14 now) dating someone didnt mean kissing it meant having someone who was off limits to other ppl and would walk you to class and tell jokes. So the age of dating really determines what you do. Every year it changes

That's a toughy. 12 is the age where you really start noticing boys, but still don't know enough about yourself. Look at it this way, she's going to have a "boyfriend" behind your back at school... Personally, my daughter will not have a boyfriend that she is allowed to talk to on the phone or spend time w/ away from school...but it's hard to stop them from doing things at school. Even if you started your kids out right they'll either do whatever you tell them whether they're at school or not, or they'll push the envelope, but you can't REALLY control what they do when they're at school. Think back to when you were young.

'Boyfriend' implies something romantic. Too young for that and all you have to do is read Yahoo! Answers to see the problems that have resulted from romantic attachments so early. 15 or 16 is closer to the age to start thinking about boyfriends. In the meantime, you can be close to a boy and not have it be romantic.

Don't get likes and loves mixed in...I'm 17 and have had many crushes, plenty of flirting guys...but I'd rather have real friendships with guys, yes even the cute ones. Of course I would love a boyfriend, but then I get to thinking...I'll go for that when I'm ready for committment. Girls, and especially guys have a lot of growing up to do, even at my age. Trust me you will change. I remember being 12 very well, thinking I was really growing up. Emphasis on the ing part. I'm, still growing up. Find good guys to be brothers for you, dating relationships are to satisfy your needs, then his, and vice versa. Try putting someone else before you, not looking to please yourself. Find guy and girl friends who will do the same

Depends on the maturity of the 12-year old. I, personally, see nothing wrong with ALL supervised events such as him coming over for dinner from time to time or a movie with an adult. If they both cannot agree on those terms, then no, neither are ready.

I think at 12 years old you are probably boy crazy. You are too young to be in a serious relationship because you are not that wise yet and you probably wouldn't be boy crazy! LOL I don't think there is anything wrong with having someone to like and spend time with as long as you have an adult escort with you.
