Why not just type them correctly?
It might save time and look better on a resume

I am a kid myself but I have realized that kids nowadays cant spell words.That's why when my friends e-mail me I'm like I can not understand one word you just said to me. I think if you get to hooked on writing and typing like that you began to speak like it and write like that in school.And its just not attractive.

I Feel That everyone feels that this is very Cool Just like U said!! But U know what, if any one, You know who uses this method, Please make sure they know that this is Okay only for informal conversations not formal ones!
Once I got hang of this sooo much that I spelt THROUGH as THRU!!! My english teaher cut a mark for this and from then onwards I dont use this method at all!!!!!!

I think its ok when theyre just talking to friends, but it should never be used in a classroom or any other formal situation.

lol i dotn think it really matter cuz i know i type fast and i dont liek to aste time just writing to ym friends but if its for school or colledge we should deff. type normal but i dont see the big deal talkin to yur friends liek who cares?

Oh yeah, It's lazy, but I use those in my e-mail just to get it done. For everything else though, I type it all out.

It drives me mad when I get a txt from my 12 year old neice as I can't understand any of it!!!

I agree, it seems to take more effort to "RiT3 tH3 c0oL w4y".
On that note, why do they alternate between upper and lower case letters? That drives me mad!

i do that! and i know its really annoying!:) ohh well... first i texted my dad like that and i used words like omg and lol and bcuz and all that, and he was like whaaaaaat pleeze send me a proper text, and i was like ohh godd.... so now when i text him it takes soo long, but i taught him what all the emotion/smily thingeez are and now he uses them!:) kewll huh:P lolzz (there i am doin it again!:S)
