I rocked back and forth and got free of the mound. I now have developed a problem when starting my car. It starts but with a bang. I turn the key and it starts, bangs loudly and is fine. I can feel the bang under my feet somewhere. Does anyone know what I might have damaged? Car is okay otherwise...no alignment problems, just the initial bang. I am concerned. Oh, it is a 2000 Ford Focus.

I just want to clarify. It only bangs once and that is it. It is not a backfire, more something under my seat. One bang and then everything is fine. And it is ONLY when I start the car...

Sounds like a backfire. this can damage you exhaust system so have a mechanic look at it and give you an estimate if something is wrong. In fact take to 2-3 and get estimates then decide what would be best to do.

hmmm, front wheel drive, the bang i have expierenced is from a broken motor mount, the car was going back and forth in cold weather, the rubber in the mount was cold and therefore tore appart.... That is one possible problem, but you were not too specific about the "bang" and this is all i can give for now....

Hard to say, I would lift the car up and get under it and see if I could see anything wrong. Anything loose or broke.

could be your exhaust. You need to go have it checked out so nothing gets backed up. Could have been your cadalitic converter (cant spell lol)
