Sounds like fun on paper but ...
THESE ARE AMERICAN LIVES WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!
stupidity is reducing the amount of troops in the field until it is dangerous. leaders treating our brave soldiers like pawns is despicable. they better start using that noodle they call a brain or else this whole mess will get worse!

A vote on defunding the troops would be a major assertion of legislative power over the executive. It's Constitutional but the political risks are high. Strictly politically speaking, I don't see Congress defunding the troops if the Commander In Chief thinks they are necessary to protect and defend the United States.

Chimpy's decider days are coming to a close. The open checkbook he and his buddies have defunded our gov't with has been closed. He should enjoy his cumfy office at the White House while he can, cause it will be cinder block walls and bars soon enough.
The Dems have the power of the purse and it's a damn shame that they have to tip toe around political correctness in order to get what needs to be done accomplished.
Forget party lines. How can you possibly ignore the indictments, convictions, and illegal activities openly documented by this Administration and still believe there is an ounce of credibility to his thoughtfulness?
Unless your sitting there with a boat load of Exxon Mobil stock in you posession there is no rationale behind wanting this conflict to be extended. Just because Bush doesn't have a clue as to how to steal Iraqi Oil without massive death and destruction doesn't mean that we should pursue this soul objective to the bitter end.
So riddle this--How does a third party enter a civil war and win?

President Bush is concerned about the welfare of the troops and the security of America. He does not seek media approval.

Because bush is doing his job as a president and not caring about what "light" he is cast in or what his poll #'s are. Abraham Lincoln and Dwight D Eisenhower both had lower approval ratings than Bush and now are considered to be 2 of the best presidents ever

I don't think Bush is playing politics .....I think he actually believes this is what God wants him to do.
He is delusional. He was raised that way!
