I know this is a simple question, but does your electric bill include gas/oil, heat, and light, or just one of those? Thank you for answering my easy question...I just wanna make sure.

Your electric bill will include electricity used ex.lights,toaster,etc. it will not include gas/oil you get a gas bill for gas, a water bill for water, which usually included sewer and trash. Hope this helps!

Not sure about others, but my Hydro bill (electricity) only shows the amount of electricity I'm paying for (plus other costs like shipping the gas to me and other stuff that was used to be 'hidden'.

I also get a bill for my gas from a different company/utility.

Now if you have electric heat - that will be included in your bill but not as a seperate item. ALL the electricity you use will be listed as one (unless you get billed different rates for different times of the day/weekend like I do, then I show a price at one rate, and another for the second rate).

Electric bills are just that. It is the electricity consumed in your structure. Some do include water, sewage, trash, recycling. I think it depends on your location, rural, surburbs, city. Most electric bills in the city limits include all of the above. Now as far as gas/oil, thats definitely seperate. Call your local city office to find out.

the electric bill will not be the gas or oil, but maybe your tank uses electricity to pump the heat through the house

Depends on where you are. We live in the town and we get our electric alone. Those that live in the village has water included with the electric. Your bill should tell you.

I get a gas bill, a hydro bill and a water tank bill. All separate. If you have electric baseboards your electricity bill will be higher than gas.

The answers are accurate, however you can drastically increase the efficiency of baseboard heat by having ceiling fans to circulate the accumulation of hot air at the ceiling level AND increasing the R Value of the insulation in the attic area above. These two things will reduce the bill considerably. Be sure the fan rotates counterclockwise in the winter so as to send the warm air out towards the walls.
