this must be the one billiont time ive added details haha..
anyway to the last responce. yes i am an experienced breeder and ive gone through all the steps that you people have reccomended before asking and i have gone through a number of advanced forums and books and fish specialists but no one seems to get the problem. my best bet was one of the fish was sick and causing something. but i have a lot of fish in the tank and if i were to remove all the fish and put them in seperate tanks to study it would cost me a lot of money and thats something a good breeder cant really afford ever lol

You posed the question in a way that makes does not make you sound very knowledgeable or experiences. In your many years of fishkeeping you do not seem to have learned the golden rule involved in asking for help / advice, so I will share it with you.
DETAILS.
I need much more information than that.
What size is your tank?
How many fish do you have in it?
What kind of fish?
What kind of gravel do you use?
What kind of filtration do you have?
How often and how much do you do water changes?
Is it possible you are overfeeding?
The murkiness, is it whitish or is it greenish?
Have you added anything new to the tank recently?
I can't work any miracles without knowing this stuff, but I'll give it a go. If it's a whitish cloudiness, that is usually a bacterial bloom which results from too many nutrients in the water. Are you overfeeding? Fish have small stomachs and huge appetites. Only feed them what they'll eat in about 30-40 seconds, twice a day. If there is some food left over, remove it, or it'll foul up the tank.
You may also need to increase you filtration. If you have an under gravel filter, stop using that, and get a power filter or a canister filter instead. Make sure you get one rated for MORE than the size of your tank. You could also get a second power filter and just fill it with polywool / filter floss instead of filter media to help remove the cloudiness.
Look into whether your tank is over stocked. If your fish are producing too much feces for the tank to handle, it can cause excess cloudiness.
Increase your cleaning schedule. Do at least 40% once a week water change.
If the cloudiness is green, that's algae, which can be caused by any one of the things I just mentioned, or also excess light. If the tank is near a window, that is promoting algae growth. The light should also not be on for more than 9-10 hours a day.

Keep in mind your problem is complex, and could cause by a number of different things. Note that medication the tank is generally a bad idea as it disrupts the good bacteria, and algae. These guys eat the same stuff the guys making your water cloudy do.
White/grey water- Caused by bacteria blooms. In the end this is caused by over feeding, over stocking, and/or under cleaning.
Green water- Caused by tiny plant like creatures. Too much light , and phosphates in the water can make this easier to happen. That said it's over feeding, over stocking, and/or under cleaning.

You should do weekly water changes. It could also be the getting to much light, is it near a window? Do you leave the lights on 24 hours a day? Fish need a day and night cycle just like humans so only leave your tank lights on 10-12 hours a day.

Well if youve been breeding Flowerhorns for 18 years you should understand no tank needs medicine, just good maintenence. If your running 700g I would guess you have atleast 10 tanks? If its not a bacteria or algea bloom, and no other tanks are expieriencing the same problems, its something in the tank. Whats different in this tank then your other tanks?

What type of gavel do you have? have you put any fancy rocks in are they changing coulor? some rocks have something in them that can cause the mirkyness in your tank. it happened in my first tank. is your filter clean? do you have a filter? or is it one of those tanks with no filter? if you go to walmart they have a little filter that can fit in any tank. it's a Whisper filter. a filter is verry important. otherwise you will be cleaning your tank all the time and no matter what type of medicine you use nothing will work.
good luck.

What size tank, what kinds of fish and how many are in there? You could be over stocked or feeding too much. When you say that you cleaned it and changed the water how clean did you clean it and how much water did you change? You could be cleaning too much and never letting your tank cycle.

I don't know why you think people are insulting you. Nobody knows what to say because you did not give any details. So next time you have a question maybe you should actually describe your problem so you don't feel insulted by people's good answers. Refer to Zoe's answer and give more details so I can help you without insulting you.

whats in it? perhaps you are overstocked -- you just need to clean more often.
try doing routine gravel vacuums and water changes. depending on how big it is you don't want to do anywhere between 10-25% water changes weekly or more if you are overstocked. start out with one every other day and it should improve dramatically. after a week see if you can go a week without a change.

If you want more advanced answers you should probably be at a more advanced forum - yahoo is basically a beginners place. The fact is anyone can get better advice if they go to a forum dedicated to whatever they're talking about.

you dont say how long you've had the tank. if you have had it less than 6 weeks it is normal, and you just have to leave it to settle and for all the tap water chemicals to disperse. it will then clear.
if you've had the tank longer i dont know what it is
