Just ask them. If they say no,you can't get em.

The grown up way? Take responsibility for what you want. Tell them you know they're expensive and you'd be willing to do extra jobs around the house to pay for them. You could also ask for them as an advance birthday present (or several birthday presents if that's how the math works out).

If they're willing to work out a deal, stick to it and don't whine to change the deal afterwards. If you agreed to mow the lawn every week, or wash the dishes every night, or babysit your kid sister every Friday night, do it happily and without complaining. Show your parents that you can make a deal and live by it.

Do you have some money saved up? Offer to pay for part of it if they pay for the rest.

The first question I'd ask though, is have your feet stopped growing? It would suck to buy a pair of $175 boots and grow out of them in a year.
