First, set aside enough for the grandkids' college funds. And then,...

A house, right up next to the beach, along Lake Superior. With a good breakwall to keep the lake out of the yard. Lovely picture window and a table and chairs so I could watch the water while I had my coffee. Nice fireplace in the house, and a firepit outside in my wonderful yard, near the picnic table.

And a lovely, new car to transport me.

The jet is not a good idea, dear. It'll cost you more than that to keep it going, even if you somehow find one that costs less than a million. Most of them cost more.

My $1 million plan is simple: half of it goes to charity. A quarter of it goes to my family. The rest goes into savings. Life proceeds as normal, plus maybe $10,000 a year. Nice, reasonable income boost. $1 million is not as much money as people think.

Make sure you put enough aside for taxes!

I really doubt you could get a jet for a million bucks. If so you'd blow the rest of your money on fuel with the first flight. sorry don't mean to crush your dream.
I'd buy a dang house and finish college without having to work.

I would buy the best education possible and live of the rest while I was in school. Then after college, I could continue to make good money.

Expensive electronics I can't afford. ie. A souped-up to the latest upgrades gaming laptop/desktop from Alienware or Voodoo. Same with TVs, IPODs, etc.

I would buy a house, buy furniture for it of course, get a car, and invest the rest of the money.
