Could she be obsessive compulsive? If she is cleaning all the time I would get her to a psychologist or psychatrist. It's a way to control her world (probably better than bulimia or anorexia but still not healthy if she always obsesses about imperfection).

Does she do windows and cars? Send her over (just kidding)

Perfectionism usually stems from low self esteem or OCD. Did someone criticize her harshly about something? By cleaning, and trying to be perfect, she sees herself taking control of her life again, making it perfect, and therefore reinforcing for herself that she is a good person. Is she under stress of some kind? If she feels overwhelmed, cleaning could be a way for her to feel like she's accomplishing something she can handle.

You need to have a talk with her and offer to get her help. A psychologist can determine if it's OCD or something else. She's obsessing over something and sounds like she will wear herself out with all that cleaning! The fact that's she's withdrawn indicates depression or perhaps some kind of hormonal change. Good luck!

sit down and ask her why she is doing these things. it could be something minor or something major could be on her mind. a variety of things could be causing her to do this. it may just be that she is obsessive compulsive where everything has to be a certain way or she could just be growing up and realizing the importance of being clean. however, missing dinner to clean is a little extreme. just talk to her about it. she should be able to open up and tell you. hope this helps. good luck.

Since you didn't write alot about how she was before all this, it is hard to say what is up. But you should sit down with her and try to talk about whats going on and the changes you have noticed. If you spontaneously pop a drug test on her, she will find it hard to trust you in the future. Try and ease into whatever might be bothering her, and if all else fails, then go ahead and crack down on testing, and punishment if neccesary.

Well, sir or ma'm, I think she is just going through puberty. She probably has goals in life, like being perfect or envies (in a light-hearted way) someone so much that she wants to be better than that person.

Could be anything...drugs, stress/things weighing heavy on her mind. Have you asked her what's going on? How is the communication between the two of you? You didn't say how old she is, or anything about your relationship.
Again could be many things. Try talking to her before assuming.

She may have a mental illness like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I suggest taking her to the doctor.

sounds like your daughter has OCD.

But be glad she isnt obsessing over other things!
trust me... there are worse things to be addicted to than cleaning.

THIS MAY SCARE YOU BUT, I KNOW WOMEN WHO WERE RAPED OR SEXUALLY MOLESTED AND IT HAS LEAD TO THEM HAVING EXREMELY COMPULSIVE BEHAVIOR THAT USUALLY MANIFESTS ITSELF THROUGH CLEANING. ONE OF MY MOTHERS FRIENDS USES A WHOLE BAR OF SOAP IN ONE SHOWER, AND SHE SHOWERS TWICE DAILY. BEING SEXUALLY VIOLATED MAKES YOU SOMEHOW FEEL DIRTY AND UNWORTHY. YOU USUALLY COMPENSATED BY CLEANING YOURSELF OR THINGS AROUND YOU. IT ALSO TAKES YOUR MIND OF THE ABUSE. THIS MAY SEEMED FAR FETCHED BUT I'VE KNOW FRIENDS TO KEEP CRAZIER THINGS THAN THIS FROM THIER MOMS, DONT RULE IT OUT JUST YET. TALK TO HER AND LET HER KNOW THAT SHE CAN TELL YOU ANYTHING. YOU DONT WANT HER TO FEAR YOU BECAUSE SHE COULD GET INTO A LOT OF TROUBLE THAT WAY.

GOOD LUCK
