My 9 month old little boy was circumcised at 4 weeks old, I just noticed a few days ago that the whole head of his penis is not exposed, as is the case with my older son. I never noticed it before because after the circ, his penis became an innie, and I guess I never looked that closely. It looks like maybe not enough foreskin was taken off, the foreskin in still firmly attached to the glans, instead of under the head. I can see the base of the glans under the skin. I am a nervous wreck about this, I know this is not normal, and my concern is how will they fix it. The skin in firmly attached to the head, the whole way around, so you cannot even expose the whole head. what will they do, is recircumcision even possible?

This is a question that only your son's pediatrician can answer after evaluating him. Make an appointment and don't be afraid to voice your concerns with the pediatrician. What you are discussing with him is perfectly normal and he's probably heard and seen this before. More than likely, your son is perfectly normal and there won't be a need for follow up. If that's not the case, the sooner you take care of the problem, the better. For your son's sake.

I think it might still be okay. What you are describing sounds like what my son’s circ. was like. For the longest time I thought that they hadn’t taken enough off, but I felt too funny to mention it.

But, since the foreskin is naturally attached to the glands until about 3 – 5 years old, I think it will be okay. My son is now almost 4 and his circ. looks normal now, but it did seem to be attached before.

Please don’t try and pull back the skin. If you leave it, it should be fine. You might just have to treat him as if he has a foreskin for the next little while.

My son is similar. It is called buried penis. Surgery is usally necessary. Talk to your son's pediatrician at your next visit. Do not force the skin back.

I'd go into your pediatricians office. My son's skin actually started growing back up his head (twice) that may be what's happening to your son...I guess it's quite common. The doctor can fix it right in the office. ....it's not something you like to have to watch or they like to have done to them, but it beats a second circumcision.
