Indian culture is over 4000 years, perfected over centuries. We do not ape the west. In fact the west is becoming more and more Indian. See the number of people around the world who are taking to yoga and other Indian forms of meditation and prayer. Nothing to worry. Indian culture is too powerful and sublime to be overcome or countered by any other.

Its all the people from East who have gone to the West. So, what do you mean by aping the West?
Remember, US was discovered only by Amerigo Vespucci just recently?
So, where is the concept of West?
When the whole of West is looking to India and its rich heritage and culture, trying to learn them, what are we aping for - Jeans?Sex?Running away from home?Murders?Robbery?

What is good about West?Think, if theres anything good, ape them, else, BE PROUD TO BE A HUMAN BEING.

If by "west" you mean America, it depends... We may have achieved a deserved "best" status in many ways, but in many other ways we Americans should be aping other countries.

If you're going to copy, please copy the good traits. I'd hate to think the bad ones are infecting the world.

Ape? What for? We ain't clowns, are we?

The west progressed because the developed themselves in accordance to their environment with due respect to their ethics. We don't need to follow their common pracices. All we need to do is study our environment, respect our ethics, and develop ourselves accordingly...

Instead they are being inspired by our heritage. Something that we are losing...

Are we not the "best"....best in which way?
Ok answering your other query, we can borrow generously from the way people behave in public in the West, no honking cars, pedestrians who are given importance, no spitting, no littering, etc..etc...also borrowing a little bit of work values shall do us no harm...
Hope this answers your query!
