I'll see that question and raise you one more...US boarder Patrol Agent gets 5 yrs for smuggling and accepting bribes, most of the people on "To catch a Preditor" only get a slap on the hand with maybe probation, and two other Boarder Patrol Agents shoot an illegal alien drug runner. The drug dealer gets immunity from prosecution...continues to traffic drugs across the boarder and the Boarder Agents go to jail for 10 and 12 years! Where's the justice in our legal system? She's not just blind anymore, she's out of touch with reality.

I know what u mean. Yesterday on Fox News I heard about a man who was in bed with 2 women. One was the mother of a 9 yr old that was being raped by another man near by. They sentenced him to 1 year for failure to stop the rape. An atty tried to defend the man because he was a "crack addict". How sad! They didn't mention anything about sentencing her "mother", the other woman or the rapist. If they did I missed it. More importantly, they didn't say how the young girl was doing. Then they talked about a similar incident, in which our justice system has failed us, about another child rapist charged with multiple counts and he only got 7 years. Both rapists had the same judge- a lady Leal (I think). Anyway, it's sad that our government has their priorities all screwed up. It sucks to think that drug dealers/users get harsher sentences than rapists/murderers. Something has definitely got to change. Maybe it we vote Hilary Clinton into office she can make some changes!

Ok. The article will not pull up, but think about what you just asked. It should be life in prison for helping illegals enter this country...in fact we shouldnt have to pay for them either...So the death penalty for them. As for this 'torture'...what is involved...spanking them?...taking away their playstation?...not letting them on myspace? I just don't see any correlation...but please let me know what this torture was so I can reply more accuratly...
ADDITION: I did some research and found some information...This is first degree felony that can carry up to 30 years in prison. I could not find information on this case you are talking about but did find some information about a couple others and YES they should be punished more than they were.

There is no standard for sentancing in the US justice system. I don't agree with the child torturers getting out in 2 years, but you'll have to take it up with the judge and jurors.

Politics, wealth, corruption, buyoffs, and the like will get you more than being honest....As for the couple that tortured their kids...toture them the same way......
P.S. I am a firm believer" whats good for the goose is good for the gander" and an eye for an eye.......Thats where we started going astray from humans living like humans, not namby-pamby pussi** about having/not having the right to take lives...Courts are corrupt, it isn't funny... and lawyers twist the law !!!

Just goes to show where our priorities are at. We're so concerned with immigrants and all things foreign that we can't even repremand or take care of our own.
I wish I had an actual explanation for this but I don't even think lawmakers and judges do.

fat pigugly shites in goverments delicate fragile ego's
and the torturing and god knows what else
of little children, will barely get their attention
because it is not politically or financially enhancing.

Because in some ways this country is not perfect. But, compare it to other countries and you can still be Verrry grateful to live here (China = Communism, must kill every child yourself after 1st, etc.)
