How about something like the tabloids? Use pictures from events and create fun stories, but make it look totally fake. You can do it for sports, high school events, school clubs, highschool sweethearts, etc. Focus on different different areas of school so that everyone has a chance in the papers and let them know what your ideas are, so they don't get offended in any way.

How about a 'What's Happening' section? You could tell all of the things that are going on in your town that weekend that teenagers could go to.
