The "better" translation that would be "Maganda ka," but
we seldom say it like that, it's not very beautiful-sounding when you say "Maganda ka," as compared to "ang ganda mo!"
Literally, "Ang ganda mo!" means "Your beauty!" It's actually a bit more natural-sounding than the more accurate translation. Or say, "napakaganda mo" (you are very beautiful).

Ikaw Ay Maganda (not so common)
Maganda ka (Most common)
Ang gunda-gunda mo (You are very beautiful)
Ikaw ang pinakamagandan babae na nakita ko (you are the beautifulest girl I've ever seen
nakatutuwa ka you're cute
just make sure you say your A's right. A like the u in "shut" NOT like the A in "bat"
Watch "Return of The Jedi" right at the part were C3PO sits up after falling from the net. The Ewaks speak Tagalog and one says "Maganda"

There could be many ways to translate YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL in Tagalog....
Here are some...
Maganda ka. (simplest way)....
Ang ganda mo. (normally used and very common)....
Ikaw ay maganda. (Formal way of saying)...
IF you're planning to say it as a term of endearment, I would recommend you use the second one... It's more informal and sincere I guess... NOTE that "ganda" is actually the Tagalog noun for "beauty"

perhaps that is because we've a tendency to associate the English words we use with its fairly English spelling, for this reason pondering it as Taglish quite of Tagalog. also, Spanish loanwords were found in our language for a lengthy time period that it will honestly tailored itself into the language.

"Maganda Ka" means, "Beautiful you are"
"Hindi ka pangit" means, "You are not ugly,"
and "Parang Anghel" means, "Like and angel,"
I learned this when last year when I was ten and I was in the philippines
