Everyone comments that my daugthers ears stick out, I think they look fine and will eventually grow with her head, but everyone says I should tape them back. Has anyone done that before?

I would quite frankly tell those people to mind their own business. If you as her mother see nothing wrong with her ears then leave them alone.
If she doesn't "grow" into them, then I think it should be her decision if she wants anything done to them.
There is no reason to make your child uncomfortable just to appease someone else's sense of cuteness.

My daughter was born about 3 days old and I noticed her ears where sticking out a little bit. I wanted to tape them back also, my husband said that they would develop when her cartilage grew more. Also one ear stuck out more because she was leaning on one side more often than not in the womb. But now she is 7 months and her ears are fine, her cartilage developed and one still is a little bit farther out but the look normal now especially now that her head got bigger:D don't worry about everyone has weird things they will tell you to do with a baby but trust you instincts

RUDE. Who cares what other people think. U know that your little baby is the most beautiful baby in the world:)!! And you're right, they probably will look better when she is older, but if not... nobody's perfect and she shouldn't be made to feel like there's something wrong with her. It's not like it's a medical problem! Hey she can always grow her hair long and cover them up, and WORST CASE scenario if she absolutely HATES them when she's old and rich enough to afford plastic surgery, then she'll do that. In the meantime, be thankful for her good health, and the things that make her unique. Ignore all the RUDE people out there who don't know how special she really is!

Good grief. People can be so tacky!

Please ignore them. There is no need to tape ears - it won't do any good, anyway. Eventually her hair will grow and cover them anyway. My son's ears were a little funny-looking for a few months, too. He grew into them just fine.

My daughter who was born in 1979 had one ear that stuck out.
I tried everything. Tying it back, putting a nylon on her head, nothing worked. There really isn't anything that you can do except hope that it doesn't bother her. My daughter to this day still has that one ear that sticks out and at 17 said she wouldn't have it fixed if she could. It'll be OK

No. taping ears is a fallacy. She is just fine leave her alone. She will indeed grow into her ears. This is very normal and not at all unusual for children.

Taping them back is useless. They will, as you say, grow to fit her head. New born babies often have their ears folded over in the womb and it takes awhile for them to sort of lay flat.
She's fine!! Don't let other peoples comments hurt your feelings.
Your daughter is beautiful!!!

Who cares if her ears stick out. It is probably a physical trait that makes her who she is, and will give her character.

If you are truly concerned for her, then consult your doc about it. But otherwise, just tell those other people that you think she is beautiful just the way she is.

What is wrong with these people? Tell them to mind their own business. I'm sure she is fine don't give her a looks complex by taping her ears. I 'm sure she is just precious. Ignore ignorant ,unkind people.

who cares what anybody else thinks..tape isn't going to make them stay back forever..that's going to cost you some money to have them pinned back for good but why would you..just see how things go and then if your daughter has a problem with it later on in life help her out and get them pinned back..don't worry about other people.
