This depends on the size of your partner's penis, how aroused you are, whether you've been using toys or anything... Odds are it's going to hurt. I can't imagine that a prom-age guy has any idea what he is doing, so it probably will hurt. I would recommend not doing it just 'cause it's prom. If you do, use a lubed condom, it will hurt less with lube.
I do want to note that as I've gotten older, I've enjoyed sex a lot more. Guys don't know what they are doing at that age and I was too shy to tell them what to do if I did know (oftentimes I didn't know what I needed). It's a lot better to wait to have sex until you are going to enjoy it because you'll build up all sorts of hang-ups if you have a bunch of bad experiences now (and odds are, that could very likely happen). once your hymen is open, its open. its not like you close up or anything. it will not hurt like your last time. and i also agree with the person above....why do it now, just because its prom? dont worry about what everyone else is doing. just do what u want.

My first time didn't really hurt, but it may for you. It's that your muscles are not used it. So it's basically like going back to your first time.
