I often get an uneven finish on some of my nails after I've done them and the polish is dried. It seems to be caused by tiny little airbubbles in the layers of polish. Does anyone know the reason for this and how to avoid it? Could I be applying the layers too quickly one after the other? I usually apply base and top coat and two layers of polish. Thanks for your help!

first you want to take a cotton ball with some nail polish remover and wipe your nails even if you dont have polish on them( the oils are still there) then after your nails have dried, you want to take a very soft nail file and go over the tops of your nail very gently. then wipe off any excess dust off your nails and begin with a base coat, do a very thin layer and let dry. then add one coat of nail polish, very very thin, make sure there isnt a lot of polish on the brush, its better to dip twice. then let is dry for about a minute and add your second layer a little thciker this time. and then let dry for a minute or two and add your top coat, again, a thin layer.

p.s. i have found that if i use either a base coat or a top coat, my polish stays on longer, then if i have 4 layers on.

You have to let each coat dry thoroughly before you put the next one on. And put them on in thin layers, not thick ones. That may help.
