I'd say he's got a damn good chance, cuz 95% of the black Pop. will vote for him, plus quite a few white ppl, besides, what's the competition? Hillary!? LOL!

Zero and none. If he thinks that he can garner the black vote JUST because he is black, then he is stupid. Black people vote for who can serve them best. Jessie Jackson found out just how much support blacks were willing to afford him---very little.

He has as good a chance as anyone. Hilary does have some of the black vote now. But it’s because people tend to vote for who they know and Hilary has been in the eye of people since Bill was president even before then. It’s a good sign frankly because it shows the black community is not going to vote on someone solely based on the persons race. Barack has told the Black community as well as any community that you don’t vote for someone based on race. I think he would be disappointed if he had most of the black vote now because it would be too clear that most voted for him based on him being part black. Most of the nation are only starting to learn about him. Barack has nearly 2 years to campign and get out there so the people get to know him, his views on things etc.

The one thing that may hurt him is his lack of experience but I have a feeling he will be President one day, will it be in 2008 maybe or maybe not regardless I think this man will be a future President.

There are only 30 million African Americans in the US. Out of those, only 2/3 are voting age. Out of those, how many will actually vote? 39% is the average voting registration for US citizens.

I think Obama's chances might be good or bad, but they do not hinge on the 'black' vote...

I hope he wins and I am going to vote for him but I'm afraid Hillary will slay him in the Primary.

BTW- To the Preacher up there-
EVERYONE votes for who can serve them best. That is the whole point of living in a democracy. Being black has zero to do with anything.

Barak may have a hard time getting re-elected senator once Hillary gets thru with him. Just saw a story today where Hillary agreed to pay a S.C. african-american leader $10k a month for his "support" b/c BO's group was offering only $5k; so much for the "black" thing.

He has a chance at the Democratic nomination, but he's too liberal for the general population to vote for him.

Probably only a few percentage points better than me or any other person in the general public.

I do not think the Blacks are so stupid to vote for a person just because of a persons race
i do however hope they are that stupid as it guarantees a Republican win in 2008

He has no chance. After the Clinton machine gets through with him he would be lucky to get elected as a dog catcher
