Since you have a 29 day cycle you would start to take a LH test on the 12th day of your cycle (the first day is the fist day your period STARTS) you will take a test every day around the same time of day unitl the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. This means that you have had a rise in your hormone level. Thisnis the time you need to start having sex. It also mean tha tyou will be ovualting within 24-48 hours. You are most fertile 24-18 hours before ovulation and 24 hours after. The simple way to think about it is that you will ovualte 15 days after your period starts and you should get your perios 14 days after that. I hope this helps. Good Luck

You will ovulate approximately mid cycle. During this time check for cervical mucus. It is clear, stretchy, and slippery. Chances are you will probably ovulate that day or more likely the following day. If you want to become pregnant make love on the day after the cervical mucus. Good Luck!
Keep in mind the egg only lives up to 24 hours.

Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating plus it keeps track of your periods & more. It also emails you to let you know your upcoming fertile/ovulation dates and also when your period is due or late.
It is a very helpful and free website. I use it and it helped me better understand ovulation instead of people always saying that" 14 days after" thing.
You stated you have a 29 days cycle so you have a 29 day cycle but just go to that website because it will help you out so much.
Good luck

The best way I've found to know when I ovulate is to take my daily basal body temperature. My OB recommended this when I started ttc. Not every woman ovulates on day 14, even if she has a 28 day cycle.
To chart your bbt, you'll need to buy a basal thermometer (also called a fertility thermometer). You can find them at most drug stores for about $10. Take your temp every morning before getting out of bed. Record your daily temps. When your temp rises about 0.5 degrees F, then you ovulated the day before. Some women don't like this method because you don't know you've ovulated until after the fact. However, by charting your bbt, you can find out if and when you are ovulating regularly, so you will have a better understanding of your cycle. They are also useful for your OB/GYN to diagnose and treat some fertility problems.
In addition to charting your bbt, you can also use ovulation predictor kits. Most kits come with about 7 tests. Based on your average cycle length, the test will instruct you on what day of your cycle you should begin testing. My cycles were about 28-29 days, and when I used the kit, I was instructed to begin testing around day 12. The tests work similar to a pregnancy test, you check your urine and the test will tell you if you are fertile or not.
There are other signs of ovulation to check for such as cervical mucus (discharge) that resembles raw egg whites. When you see this, this is the best time to have sex. This mucus also helps to protect the sperm until ovulation occurs. This mucus is usually found a coulple of days before, and the day of ovulation.
However, my OB just told me to have sex every other day from day 10 to 20 of my cycle. Sperm generally live 2 days and men need about 36-48 hours to rebuild their sperm count, so it's not necessary to have sex every day. Also, it is best that the sperm are already present in the womb when the egg is released during ovulation because the sperm has to fertilize the egg in the fallopian tube or it will not implant in the uterus. Once the egg is released during ovulation, it will only survive 24 hours, so you only have a small window of time for this egg to be fertilized.
You can find out more information about charting your bbt, and chart on line for free at fertilityfriend.com. I strongly recommend this site. Best of luck to you.

You normally ovulate 14 days after your menstrual cycle. That is from the time it begins. If you have irregular periods, you should try the ovulation kit. I used it and it worked for me. It will tell you the best time. I got rpegnant on the first try. I am now 20 weeks (5 months). You should just count 14 days from the start of your period. You can also tell when you are ovulating because your vaginal mucus is thicker. It's best to try and conceive when it's thin. It allows the sperm to travel easier.
