Personal opinion is they are all of those and should pay taxes. Some may be less so than others and individual congregations may not be so described and would be hurt by the taxation. But, yes the big ones obviously should be taxed.

I agree churches should pay taxes since many of them weight in on political issues like abortion and try to control how people vote. They dont deserve a break while Bush is cutting the budget for the elderly. Churches benefit from the war of terror and they should pay their share. After all Bush said we all have to sacrifice for the war on terror. Who better than the right wing extremist that support Bush Co.

If they endorse a politician, then they should pay taxes.. Kinda like the Senator/preacher ,Darrell Jackson , Hillary just bought for the tidy sum of $200,000 between now and election day. That's $10,000 a month.. Not bad.. Of course she got him after negotiations with the Obama campaign broke down. They were only offering $5,000 a month..

A real church isnt a PAC. But some groups organize together and use religion as a scapegoat for political gain. How do you think bush got elected? All he had to do was claim to be christian, and he was endorsed.

sweet and simple: Churches are not PACs. They do not suport policitcal causes. Some causes just go along with their beliefs. Are you a PAC because you agree with a political belief?
