They charge us hefty taxations and impose themselves in our private lives. They seem to think we are here for them than they are here for us. They cut services yet demand more taxation to pay for them. They give away our rights to an unelected body of foreigners called the EU and instigate spying on our own people and grassing them up while corruption in our government is overlooked (Prescott).

alex l and dickn2000 it is people like you that give this government a free hand to go like N. Korea or Iran.
They can go more and more unrestrained and chip more and more of your liberties.
This "I got nothing to hide" doesn't mean that the privacy to be a free person who is not under a microscope is a bad expectation. You want to live in a democracy and free country yet prepared to live like you are under the gaze of big brother. The government is supposed to serve the public not the public serve the government.

WHAT'S YOUR POINT? We all know the foibles of our government. You have merely overstated the obvious. To really be effective in your criticism of our government you should have compared it to one of the truly beneficient governments, such as that of North Korea, or Iran, or Russia. A nice country where its citizens are free from any opression.

overdramatic, aren't you? name a government not imposing of the people. the hand of my local government is much more swift and ever present than that of the federal government. nothing's perfect, but i do love it here. personally, if the government is spying on me, that's ok, i'm not doing anything illegal.

Yes. Government in general is a bully. That is why the neo-libs want to push big government as a way to control the populace. They are inherent bullies.
