I thought it was cool. Here's what Evanescence Reference had to say...
When played backwards, the part of the song "...I'm not sleeping, Hello, I'm still here..." very distinctly says "He hurts me all over. Hear me, it was not me." This is not intentional by the band, however it is the only phrase that can be heard when Evanescence's music is played in reverse.

Hmmmm ... it is a bit odd.
Anyone remember the Judas Prest "backwards messages"? Couple of American boys, probably out of their heads on booze and worse, were listening to Judas Priest tracks. Heaven only knows why, but they played one backwards and were told to "do it", wherupon they both shot themselves. One survived, one didn't.
At the trial which ensued, various Priest tracks were played to see if they contained any more subliminal messages. One contained something which sounded like "She asked for a peppermint, I gave her it".
ISTR that ELo deliberately put backwards messages into tracks on the "Secret Messages" album, saying such controversial things as "'Hello Mum" ....
