Why do these "singers" sound like a hippopotamus in labor????
What happened to talent? Most people in show business today have no talent. Look at cRAP music--how many of these goons can even play a musical instrument? The standards for/of talent has been lowered.
To soulchild below--Gospel does not come from God Spell(which was a popular play that began in NYC in the 1970s).
Early "gospel" was derived from old jewish testament poems, prayers, & songs. For example, the song "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot"----there were NO CHARIOTS in the US.--My source 4 this: The Oxford History of the American People, by Samuel Eliot Morison-a Pulitzer Prize winner & noted historian.

Not to sure about the gay bit. Before African Nubian's were taken as enforced slaves from their tribes, dancing and playing bongo's was very much an after dinner occurrence.
Music has always been in Nubian bones.
Gospel derives from the word God spell.......as church was the only time "black" African Americans were allowed any peace they used this time to ask the lord for help in harmonious tones and melody. As you can imagine all pain and suffering was out poured. Many Gospel songs are about praising the lord and believing in him to give strength to make it through hard times.
And that is why you believe Nubian's to be the best singers, because we really understand pain, suffering, longing and passion which the best songs are often written about.

weird question...
so what if they are black? they got a voice and can sing great! i love music and half of the singers i lsiten to i have never seen so i dont know if they are black or white or red or blue.. but i like them for thier music not anything else. so what if they are straight or gay? it really dosnt bother me.. about the gay thing it might even be rumours. this question seems pointless to me and probably comnig from an imature person.

Elvis was neither black or gay
Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Julie Andrews etc etc. Depends on what music you like. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson etc etc.
I can think of thousands who are not black or gay.

black people are more out going when it comes to singing, i live in multi cultural area and quite often see a black geezer walking down the road singing,
gay people are more likely to be singers or entertainers coz,
most straight white people are too reserved and so called proper
acting to express theirselves, and remain boring.
