He's only 26 and the next year might be the breakout year for him, I think he should be given one more chance.

He will be given an opportunity next season but not likely in Baltimore for cap reasons. He has taken a lot of punishment and said a couple of questionable things (the contract ...I'm not giving 100%) so teams will scrutinize him pretty hard but someone who loves the power running style will sign him. If his attitude is right and he takes care of his body then he may have a couple more productive years but 26 year old power backs have really short shelf life (think Christian Okoye, brutally strong back worn out in 3 years). Someone will gamble on him though, he has produced before and teams are desparate to find productive backs...even ones on the down side of their careers.

"Only" 26? He's a running back. The shelf-life of a running back is usually pretty short. So although that is not necessarily "over the hill," it sure ain't young!

Whether or not he should be given another chance is totally dependent on Baltimore's options. They can do worse than Lewis, and he didn't have THAT bad of a season. That said, they are up against the cap. He was not THAT good, either. I think they are going to have to cut him before that $5 million bonus kicks in. For the money, they can probably do at least as good with someone cheaper.

If Jamal Lewis would take a pay cut and earn his way back to the big bucks than yes but he wont. Jamal already had his breakout year in 2003 and when he runs he looks like he is 30+ years of age. I would love for him to come back to Baltimore and split time with a younger back, like NO Bush and Mccalister does but he wont split carries and he wont take a pay cut. I think the getting Adalius Thomas is more important to get back then Jamal Lewis at this point.

He will get another chance, but on a different team. Baltimore needs the cap space and therefore Jamal is history in that city.

He hasn't had a really great year since 2003. He would be better as a short yardage and goal line back. Too much wear and tear and he is slowing down. He certainly is not worth what he will demand and the Ravens should consider drafting a younger, faster replacement.

He will get another chance but it may not be in Baltimore. He still has some good years left in him and may benefit from a change of scenary. He needs to put his legal problems and injuries behind him and get back to what made him good. With the right team he could be a solid starter, but will never cross 2,000 yards again.

Look Jamal Lewis is stinkin RB. I bet you Laedll Betts is better than him in a long way. You rather let Jamal go because he isnt productive and he is hurting your Cap room. So dont give him a nother chance. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd say one more year but that's it. Only 26? That means he's almost 30, which means he's a year closer to being chopped liver. Running backs have a short shelf life.

He really needs to go to a team like the Bengals. He looks good in stripes and could really mentor some of the younger guys on the team. Although they're doing pretty well without him.

Why not, he's a scumbag & that whole team is made up of scumbags so he fits in perfectly with them. Even with 10 arrests this season I'll still take the Bengels over the Ravens any day of the week!
