The best music occurred when you were expanding your horizons, exploring and experiencing new things. Generally that means your teens through twentys.
IMHO some new music will still sound good 30 years from now. Some currently popular music will be forgotten in less than 5 years. And a lot of the trendy bands will end up being one-hit wonders after your tastes change. That's how it has been for me.

I love the 80s. But, I think every decade has had its share of great music!

The decade you grew up in between the ages of 11-23. Because your memories have that music in them.

80's baby! There was so much innovation and it was such a great transitional period. Look at the evolution of jazz and the onslaught of new wave, which killed disco (thank god)...it also made a segway for a lot of the early 90's acts. PLUS, you had the hair, thrash, and death metal. Imagine what bands would NOT be around today if it weren't for that genre!

I think theres good from each decade and also very bad music from each decade, it depends on particular taste

Wow! The 80's were fantastic. They were my teenage years and the music is unforgettable. Love the 80's-totally!
