Teacher pay is based on your district and years of experience. Some districts are able to offer stipends or bonuses while others stick to the base salary. These days, a first year teacher starts off at around $25,000 but will be up around $30,000 easy by year 5.

As an initially licensed teacher, there are few extracurricular obligations, so you may refuse coaching or sponsor positions for those first three years, focusing on developing management and instructional skills. Most districts will offer vision, medical, and dental insurance and, of course, there are "summers off." I put this in quotations because it is advisable to continue professional development and/or summer school teaching during the summer.

You must have a four-year degree and at least a minor in Spanish. If you did not major in Spanish education, there will be additional coursework to complete. You will have to take two Praxis tests over content knowledge and communication.

$25,510 for a first-year teacher with a Bachelor's degree. All public school teachers get paid the same, the grade and subjects they teach doesn't matter. They all go by a time-grade scale, the more experience you have and the more education, the more you can make.
