I have bad credit. Would they fire me even though I recently graduated from college and have bad credit? I need this job in order to turn my situation around. It is a fairly new and somewhat small company. (if that helps) What should I do if they bring this up?? Thanks!!!

I don't think a "bad" credit check will matter. If they do bring it up, just explain how the credit got messed up to begin with. Honesty - you have to be honest and explain that this job will help you turn your situation around and get back on your feet.

I wouldn't be concerned...the credit check is usually only run for people with money handling responsibilities.

I don't understand why they are doing a credit check for a receptionist position. Will you be handling large sums of money? If they don't hire you for the position because of your credit just keep looking for a job where they don't check your credit. Also if you tell some companies of you credit problems up front they will understand and not feel like you were trying to hide something from them.

Most companies don't care too much about your credit. If it is an issue explain the situation. I don't think many people emerge from college with great credit.

There are questions you can not ask. I think they trust you and they have not asked so just move on and if it does become an issue tell them it is an embarrassing thing and they failed to asked. The thing is what if I were your debt and I wanted to get it back so, I go to court and get an order to recover the money direct from the employer....They hate that and there goes the trust.

I think there's a good chance either that they won't run a credit check for that kind of position or that it won't make much difference to them. It really shouldn't. Good luck!

Just be honest. Most employers understand about things like that, especially coming right out of college. If you are honest, they will likely not weigh too much on that.

Now, if you have multiple foreclosures, a recent bankruptcy, defaults on student loans, and things like that, it may effect you. If you are right ouw of college, I doubt your credit is that bad. It may not be great, but who's is right out of college.

Don't tell anything you don't have to.Answer the question's and that's all. Don't think your credit has anything to do with it, they might do a criminal background check. Good Luck!
