I wish they were, that would make my wearing girdles much more acceptable. But alas, they are not.

I'm in jeans. YES! I'm a proud crossdresser. :)
If you wear a kilt, are you a crossdresser?
I think if I get my pants in the men's department and squish my breasts so they don't show and hide my hair under a fedora, yeah, I'm a crossdresser. But I don't.
If I don't do those other things but still buy my pants in the men's department, am I a crossdresser? I dunno. Why is a label necessary anyway?
More often than not I wear heeled boots during the winter. I wore tennies a few weeks ago and told a coworker who usually wears sneakers I was dressing like him. A week later, he came into the office in heeled boots and said he was dressing like me. That doesn't make him a crossdresser, but I kid him about being the "world's worst transvestite."
WWII changed the rules on pants on women. We did a lot of factory jobs and other things where skirts would just be a bad idea. The style stuck.
Cowboys wore boots with heels a hundred years ago. The style never stuck.
Personally, I think the whole cowboy outfit looks kinda gay. :)

Technically, yes they are Crossdressing.
And society does indeed frown on the fact of a man wearing a skirt because society feels it is a sexual perversion or mental disease. A 1930's book on Psychiatry actually states that Crossdressing is a mental disease. A lot of society still believes that rubbish.
And yes, it was not long ago that women were not allowed to wear pants openly in public an men in the early 1800's wore stockings.

All depends on the mind and heart. I know of a church that will kick women out if they don't wear a dress. While attending an ice cream social, mind you I was asked to wear a dress, I decided not to take part in some of the activities due to possibility falling...in a dress. I felt it was hardly lady-like. History has changed really women don't even come close to wearing the layers that would allow for accidents.
By the way Scottish men wear skirts as well as other cultures where men wear dresses.

No - we just want to be comfortable, same as anyone else! I remember when I was in 5th grade and they announced on the loud speaker at school that we girls were finally allowed to wear pants to school. You should have heard all the girls whoop it up and holler. Were we all cross dressers because we wanted to wear pants? Of course not. Why should we feel the draft of the wind on our legs, have to wear nylons and uncomfortable shoes just to be feminine? We women can be sexy and feminine in pants and jeans (if not more so) than in dresses. I wouldn't read anything into something that is clearly not there.

Cross dressing is when someone wears clothes that are typically only worn by the other gender. So no, because in today's culture, it is typical for women to wear pants.
However, sixty years ago, it would have been considered cross-dressing because it wasn't typical for women to wear pants.

Male clothing is typically functional or professional. Female clothing is typically stylish, accentuating, or flirtatious. Women wearing functional or professional clothing is not crossdressing. Even if they are wearing overalls.
Men wearing clothing to accentuate their feminine bodies, which they don't have, is cross-dressing.
I think a woman would have to wear a "wife beater" sleeveless T-shirt to be cross-dressing.

definitely no longer. i'm a woman, tall and curvy, and girls human beings's pants do basically no longer in high-quality condition amazing. they are constantly too short, do no longer slot interior the seat, and generally too severe-waisted. I constantly purchase adult men's pants, they only in high-quality condition greater valuable, and now and back fee much less! denims presently are quite lots unisex whilst it includes huge manufacturers, like Levi, Arizona, etc. Who cares as long as you're mushy with it!
