In your opions what is the purpose of moving into a sober house and what goals should you have while living in one?

You have to want to be sober. They are for people who want them, not for people who need them.

Sober living houses are like treatment centers...they do not really do anything to help an alcoholic. In the "old days" we used to call these places sanitariums. they are designed to make a profit off of sick people.

Go to all the AA meetings you can. Get a sponser and experience the 12 steps. this is the only proven method of recovery and guess what...it is free.

The point of a sober, or "half" house, is to live away from alchoholic beverages for long enough to kill the addiction. While living in one, a good goal would be to find something to devote your time to instead of getting drunk, like, say, basketball, to do instead of drinking.
