Man that's deep, I actually had to think, my brain hurt for a milisecond and then it came to me. The earth is expanding into Mc Donalds.
hope that helps ...

When was the last time you looked into the sky on a dark and clear night. All that black stuff between the stars is called the Aether. The Aether is big enough to handle any expansion. Most dictionaries do not have the word Aether in it but it is a word of greatness and meaning.

The Universe is constantly expanding, because of the first original force created when the Big Bang occured. The Universe will continue expanding till it reaches equillibrium, and then it will start to shrink back, into what will be known as the "Big Crunch". It's theoritic physics, so just remember that this isn't set inn stone.

It is told,I mean they told us, the Astronomers, but don't believe them on word!do your own research,HA!that it is expanding in all directions like the surface of a baloon, creating its own space.
But with this new old string theory, maybe it won't explode in the end of the expansion, it will just settle down, like a quitar string that after it was pinched and it was singing, later happily rests.
Who pinched the string? This is another question.

It's expanding into the vacuum of space. Simple as that, nothing more and nothing less. If you think it will morf into something other than that, you'd be wrong. An object set in motion will remain in motion until some other force acts upon that object (or objects) to change it's (their) motion. Unless God Himself changes that physical law, it will continue forever. And that my friend is really far out! Really!

Subjectively viewed from our three dimensional perspective, the Universe appears infinite. Viewed Objectively from outside our Universe, in the multi dimensional hyper cosmos, the Universe is an expanding stain on a multiple dimensionality inverse manifold, floating on a sea of infinite possibilities. Wrap your mind around that one.

it is expanding into space, i think that space and the universe are two different things, space has always been there, before the big bang, and the big bang created all the matter and energy we can see and measure, the universe is finite, the space is infinite

try this: start with an infinite set composed of one copy all the integers. modify the set to include all fractions. the set is infinitely bigger but it hasn't expanded "into" anything. the universe can grow without taking something from anywhere outside itself. try looking at cardinal (transfinite) numbers:

I'm with you on this one,I've read loads of science books and only get unsatisfactory answers, like Mr Sceptic's above.
Good luck with your quest for knowledge

It isn't expanding into anything, it creates the space as it expands.
