It was named after Saint Valientine. He was a Roman Offical who was teaching the word of God and marrying romans to women they loved.

The romans in the army were forbiden to marry. One day A wedding was in process and all on the scene were arrested except for Valintine because of his high status.

Valintine scarcficed his own life so that the other nine prisioners would be freed.

Valintine died in the roman coloauem in the jaws of wild beasts.

The day was started to make us remember selflessness not for the pourpse of who can get their girl the best thing
