Thats a question that I've always wondered myself. I've been told that good things happen to bad people in the hopes that they will soon realize that its God's glory and that they will come to him and praise him. And when I asked about why the good people always die too soon I was told that its because its their time to go to heaven. They've done what they need to do and now its time to move on. I personally don't buy it. There is no rhyme or reason behind these things and I don't know if we'll ever have answers, but for now just try to keep your faith in God (or whoever you believe in) and hope that you'll get past the pain.

Because life is random, there is no such thing as fate or pre-ordained plan, bad things happen to ALL people because of coincidence, Murphy's Law, and random acts of nature and people.

When the tectonic plates crash into each other and cause human calamities, are they worried about who's good and bad? Don't make me laugh. To think that good people are protected or somehow immune to the laws of nature is not logical or rational. If you start believing in fate and pre-ordained plans, then you're reverted to superstitious CAVE MAN logic....don't do it.

It is what you think it. You may think some people are bad and some are good, but everyone is bad. You may have done some good things in your life, but, if you believe this, nobody is good compared to the man upstairs. People believe that he is so great that nobody can be compared to being good because he is the definition of good. So nobody is good, everything happens to bad people.

Because - there is nothing, neather good nor bad that thinking makes it so.

People arnt good or bad - their behaviour is.good or bad.

Anyway - the only way that a person who has done bad things will have good things for tham is if the events of humans is if there is no God, gods or any other form of moral 'force'.

So what does this mean in the light of your question. IE 2+2 =?

If you are religious, then you should know that this life is not about what happens here. It is about what happens after. We are given obstacles, and it is up to us, good or bad, to overcome these obstacles and to continue to do good despite them. That is what life is about. That is why we are here. Good and bad things have to happen to everyone, or there is no point. After this life, the good are rewarded. The bad are not.

If you are NOT religious, then you should know that there is nothing to prevent good and bad things from happening to anyone in particular. Things happen. Whether or not you are a "good" or "bad" person is totally arbitrary, as is whether the things that happen are "good" or "bad." Good things happen. Bad things happen. It is up to us, as individuals, to make of it what we can.

Either way, good things happen to ALL, good and bad. Bad things happen to ALL, good and bad. Why this happens is a matter of your point of view. Heck, what and who is considered good and bad is a matter of your point of view. It is relative.

Hope you are one of the good people with good things happening!

I work in medical, and boy does the above really apply to life. There is no answer to that question unless you belive in a god and then you could say he or she has a sick sense of humor. It really does seem that when an extremely nice person comes to me to schedule a procedure, it seems like 1 out of 10 end up having cancer or dies from other conditions. The @ssholes that I schedule always end up fine and living a long life. It sucks.

There is nothing so called good or bad. It depends upon our vision and the value we give. What is good to one, may be bad to other and vice-versa. So, while being indifferent, if one welcomes both the good and bad in one's life everything goes well. There will not be any disappointments too, if one follows this.

To tell the truth, my theory of this question is that just like kids when they get shots for instance, the parents want to make them feel better. So maybe g-d's trying to make the bad people feel better just like the parent would do.

Hello. This is an old chestnut this one. Could it be that we're all open to the elements and that good people are happy and bad people unhappy? That would tend to even things out a bit.

Not true....It MIGHT seem like that if you look to narrowly. Judging from the whole life span, you come up with: what goes around comes around....Which dictator had a glorious death? Mussolini? Hitler? Saddam?
