I work with premature babies and the earliest baby I have worked with was born at 23 weeks. This baby weighed only 12 oz, the size size of a coke. She survived and by age 3 was walking and tlaking. According to statistics on premature babies in the late 1990's, babies born at 22 weeks or less have little chance of survival. However, babies between 23-24 weeks have an increased survival rate by 3-4% per day and 20-30% between 24-26 weeks. Survival for premature babies after 26 weeks is as high as 60-90%. It all depends on the baby's condition at the time of delivery and how well the baby improves with the medical care provided

Babies have a chance to survive at about 23, 24 weeks of being born. They have a much better chance at 7 months though.

I think the typical age - for definitely viable - is 28 weeks. Any baby born before that (and some born after) will have a lot of problems...
Babies born as early as 22/23 weeks have survivied though.

24 weeks and they will try to save the baby. Before that they will not. So by months that would be about 6. Hope this helps and you make it to 38 weeks. Good luck

At the end of the fifth month there is a slim chance and in the 6th month the baby stands a bit of a better chance.

Most health professionals consider 28 weeks "viable". If the baby is born prematurely before that 28th week mark most doctors and or hospitals will do little if nothing to resuscitate or perform any life saving measures on a baby this premature due to all of the complications that it would have...brain damage, immature lungs, infections, etc...after 28 weeks the baby would be given every chance at life.
