Personally, though I like Hemingway generally, I couldn't finish this one. Catch the fish already and get on with your life.

I am just going to say what everyone else has, but you should really take it to heart. Iti s a very short book, it will take you about three hours to read, even if you are a slow reader. It is a simple read- Hemmingway wrote in a simplistic style for a reason: So the reader can understand the literal meaning of the story so well that you can focus on what the point of his writing is. He is making a statement or statements in this book that have to do with humanity, and ultimately religion. You can't understand that if someone else tells you what happened because you are missing the point of the book. Thinking about and coming to conclusions about literature is something you can ONLY do if you read the book.

This is a classic and it is a short book. You should really read this. Hemmingway is a great author so don't take the easy route. Read the book, you won't regret doing the right thing.

the basics: the old man goes to fishing and after a couple of day he catch a big fish, than the sarks eat it only left the bones.
On the island everyone surprised about the white bones and the size of the fish...........

You can either read the book or get the abbreviated Cliff Notes (or similar) to help you find out.

There is an old man.
He goes fishing.
He catches a big fish.
A shark eats it.
Readers go into boredom-induced comas.

Nothing, he drifted, he fished, he talked to himself like a madman, and that was it. It was one of the absolute most boring reads ever.
