I would really like to hear from some people from China or close by as to what the truth might be. In the US, there is a lot of controversy over this issue as a human rights violation, and I would really like to skip all the newspapers and other biased sources, and hear the truth.

Based on many reports that carefully use the word "alleged" or "reported", forced abortions and sterilizations do occur, supposedly without Government support or sanction. The truth of the matter is that I have never spoken to anyone who this has occured to so I cannot say for sure, but I do not doubt that these events have occurred, with or without Gov't support.

i am chinese,i am 26

perhaps the old generation have experienced the so called "forced abortion".but now very few people in the cities want to have 2 or more children/its no need to use the forced abortion.i am the graduate student,and i even prefer to be dinc.

to be frankly,i think the "forced abortion" is somehow right. you american dont live a nation full of people.

As far as I know, they are never 'forced' as in against someone's will.

But the community and peer pressure to have one child is enormous
