My hamsters died on Vday and I cry all the time, I dont eat, I cant sleep, I loved them with all my heart. See the thing is, I love animals more that anything on this earth, For example I hate kids, and if I had a kid AND a hamster, if my kid died I would cry but get over it quick and when a hammie dies I cry for months! whats wrong with me?

It's only have been two days so it's normal you are still sad and cry about it.Time heals all wounds and even though you probably will never forget your pet you will eventually stop feeling so sad about it and remember the good times. It is very nice to hear people who care this much about their pets,I wish more pet owners thought like you do.
Still I can tell you never had a child, having a child inside of you for 9 months gives a bond stronger than any other and I don't think it can even come close to the bond you can have with your pet.I think it's not only normal but it's healthy to love your children much more than your pets,if not something is wrong. But I'm pretty sure you are still very young and the pain of your loss is making you feel and think this way, when you 'll be older you will think otherwise.
I'm sorry for your loss, take the time you need to grieve and then maybe it's time to think about getting a new pet, they really are an enrichment of our lives!

you wont know if that's true for sure until you have lost a child, which i hope you never do. i hated kids until i had mine. i love my pets with all of my heart, but the kind of love i have for my kids doesn't compare. its OK to grieve, just because they were small pets doesn't make them any less important. there is nothing wrong with you, you are just not a mom!!! only moms can imagine that kind of pain. i think your hammies were like your children, thus the pain so there is hope for you yet. i hope one day you can experience the love of a child, you'll be ready to love children one day and if not i wish you much happiness with a great new pet!!!!

lol I think if u lost a child you would be much more devestated...You must be a kid, because only a immature child would say something like that. Its good you like animals...but human life is much more important. Grow up a little.

well nothing's wrong, i guess.
odd, but you're probably more prone to be attached to animals because you don't see the "bad" ways they behave, that's the appeal of animals, because they're so "innocent". No problem, once you hit 30, you'll probably be more lenient on your outlook towards kids. lol. that's what they say about our biological block anyway!=) meanwhile, have more pets and be happy!

well...... i don't know if that's really "normal" that you hate kids, because kids, like me, are the future. however i definitely admire the fact that you love animals. i also cry for days whenever i lose one of my pets. :(
