Here in Brazil they don't really celebrate valentines day. There was some mention of the fact on the news, but nothing official, definately not like the States. The real holiday is the Dia de Namoradas, or Lovers Day, which takes place on like the 12th of June (or maybe July- for some odd reason my new Brazilian daytimer doesn't have any holidays except foreign ones).
Christmas is on the 25th, but they celebrate a little differently, they usually stay up on the 24th, and open presents at midnight, then sleep in on Christmas day. I personally like that idea :-)

No, Valentines Day is still Feb 14 but it's not celebrated the same way (even though some people try to copycat US dates like Valentines and Holloween for example). There is a "Dia dos Namorados" (something like the boyfriend and girlfriend's day) in June 12th when couples exchange presents (it has no friendship connotation though). Christmas or "NATAL" in Portuguese (Yes, Brazilians speak Portuguese not Spanish), is also celebrated on the 25th. The only difference is that gifts are opened right past midnight after a big feast (believe it or not). Plus it's usually hot as (oops) hell this time of year. (Brazil is the Southern Hemisphere, thus it's summer time then)

According to the sources listed, there is no "Valentine's Day" but an equivelent in June. There is Christmas and the answers already posted appear correct.

The dates are the same, although Valentine's Day isn't a holiday there. The equivalent date is June 12, Dia dos Namorados.
