Well first of all congrats, I just found out 3 days ago that I will be expecting as well. I too am experiencing some cramping. I asked my doctor and she told me that it's normal to have some cramping because your muscles inside and your uterous is stretching to make room for the baby. However, if you are bleeding as well, this could be a sign of a more severe problem. Most times the cramps will come and go throughout our whole pregnancy, I'd say its just something your gonna have to get used to. But to be safe I would still get it checked out if it's bothering you that bad.GOOD LUCK!

As long as it's not severe and making you want to double over then it's very normal.
People always talk about morning sickness as being such a big issue with the first trimester when in truth, more women have cramping. It might feel as if you're getting ready to start your period. It's just your uterus growing and streching. There's alot going on inside your body already!!!
Isn't that exciteing???!!!!!
If you have cramping along with bleeding, then you have to worry. That being said, I have 4 babies and with 4 pregnancies I had cramping and with 3 of 4 pregnancies I had a bit of spotting too.

Yes it is normal to get cramping as long as it is mild cramping and you otherwise feel okay. Have a look at this website under
What are the most common causes of harmless abdominal discomfort? its about half way down the page in bold. If you are still worried go and see your doctor. Congratulations and good luck!!

Don't worry honey it is completely normal! I am 7 weeks along and I don't really have any cramping anymore. It is because your uterus is stretching in order to carry your baby. You will be fine. Just make sure that your cramping is mild and not shooting pains like a period cramping. Good Luck and congradulations!!!

Cramping is normal to a degree, cramping more severe than menstral cramps is not normal during pregnancy especially during the first trimester, if you feel they are abnormally painful or accompanied by bleeding, fever and or swelling, contact your ob/gyn immediately. The first trimester can be precarious and all concerns should be addressed by a professional for you and your unborn childs safety.

Yes, this could be just your muscles stretching. You will feel this several times through out your pregnancy. I'm 15 week pregnant with my second child. I also heard that around you time of your cycle you could get the cramp. If it is something that concerns you I would contact your OBGYN.

I have to disagree with all the other on the board. I feel that it is NOT normal. You should go see your midwife or doctor asap. I am 9 weeks pregnant with my second child and i never got cramps.

yes, cramping is very normal. as long as it is not extremely painful, accompanied by a fever or bright red bleeding. just know that your uterus is stretching along with your ligaments...it's not always the most comfortable feeling. don't worry and feel free to ask your doctor any and all questions. that is what they are there for! you are just at the beginning and have so much of your wonderful pregnancy yet to experience! congrats and good luck to you!!

Its normal in early pregnancy to get some cramping, as long as there is no heavy red bleeding followed by clotting and severe cramping. As long as there is none of those things, you'll be fine.
