Depending on where in the Orlando area you are going to be, you will be anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes from the closest beach. I would recommend New Symrna Beach.....very nice.

Cocoa Beach is Orlando's closest beach with about an hour drive (give or take, depending on where you are coming from and how you drive), and is about 60 miles away. You will have to pay money in tolls though so be sure to have some loose change.
Although Cocoa is the closest Clearwater is the nicest (softer sand, warmer water, calmer, more family oriented) it will take about 90minutes to get here and is about 110miles (once again depending on where and how you drive).

From Orlando you can get to Cocoa Beach in 45-60 min. depending on how you drive It's nice but for this time of year I recommend that west coast beaches . The water will be warmer and the beaches are alot nicer than on the east coast. You can be at Clearwater Beach in 90 minutes or so.

Since there is no sea in Orlando, are we to assume you are asking how far is it from International Dr. in Orlando to the sea? Still, by sea are you referring to the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico? Suggest you use MapQuest or similar service. With the correct information the travel distance will be calculated for you.

It takes me 1 hour to get from Melbourne to Orlando, so the ocean beaches should be a little closer.
If you sre going to swim, rather than surf, head west to the Gulf -- much nicer beaches, but it's a bit longer drive -- 1.5 or 2 hours

You can get to Cocoa Beach in less than an hour. There are a lot of beaches close (Orlando is in the middle of Florida so anyway you go you will hit a beach) but Cocoa is not only the closest, it's the least "touristy". That's the beach I always go to because it is a lot more relaxing, layed back, and cleaner than Daytona.
Plus, that's where NASA is and sometimes you can watch a shuttle go off, it's really neat to see off of the beach.

It's about an 1.5 hour drive to Daytona Beach or Cocoa Beach (neither is very nice, though.) But, you can drive on the beach in Daytona and it's always nice to see the ocean.

I don't know of any trains or shuttles, but Greyhound Bus runs routes from Orlando to the various beaches.
