If I'm not mistaken, those are scars from an illness. I can't think of what illness, but I remember reading that's what happened. Yup, found it...it was called discoid lupus

Those are scars from a childhood affliction, not burns or tribal marking.
I'm not alone in my opinion that Seal is NOT ugly. He modeled for years. His skin is the most beautiful color I've ever seen, the gap in his front teeth makes his smile light up, and the texture of his skin only adds to his unique sensuality. Heidi's no idiot, he is one of a kind!

I don't know for a fact... Because I don't think he has ever talked about his face... BUT..
I believe his skin issue is related to Severe Acne in the past.
Seal before he made it big was homeless living in abandoned buildings... That is when he actually wrote the song "Kiss From A Rose".

I have no idea...I always thought they were caused by really bad acne when he was a teen or something. Either way he's got a great voice.
