We rightfully criticize palestinians when they are wrong but never criticize Israel when they are wrong (settlers in the West bank).

Like it or not, America will always be Israel's stooge. I wouldn't have admitted that at one time, but the facts don't seem to support that view.

I take exception to what you say. Israel is criticized incessantly by the media all the time. And I think you will find that more Americans are pro-Palestinian than pro-Israel. All you have to do is read the wording of newspaper articles on any conflict to see the bias against Israel in the articles.

The problem is I don't think most Americans have any real understanding of what the conflict is between Palestine and Israel, any understanding of the complexity of the issues involved, or of the history which has brought the two peoples to this place. And for that matter the amount of interference from all sorts of other countries around the world.

Most of us haven't done our homework carefully enough to have a right to anything but our own stupid opinion.

The way I look at it, is the fact that the Palestinians have been offered peace many times and choose war over peace. How many times have they refused the peace offer. I watched as Sharon pulled his people out of Gaza and said take this land and let us live in peace. What did the Palestinians do as soon as they got into Gaza? Yes they started shooting rockets at the Jews. The Palestinians are a joke they never miss an opportunity to make themselves look like a** clowns.

The US helps those who help themselves. The tiny little nation of Israel has a higher GDP than Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Pakistan COMBINED. If you want to know why we help them, it is because Israel is the only country in the entire world who will do what it takes to defeat terrorism. They don't care that the rest of the world wants to side with the poor little Palestinians who kidnap and execute Israelis.
I support Israel because they don't feel sorry for themselves. The recognize problems, and do what it takes to survive. The Palestinians want Global Islamic Rule. Any non-Muslim would be STUPID to support that.

first of all, thats not the view nationwide. i know a lot of Americans who empathize with the Palestinians.

But the simple matter of fact is, the Palestinians are the ones who won't let it lie. the Israelis have been very aggressive in their retalliations. but thats the key- its retalliation. the Palestinians have kept this conflict going for FAR too long. its like they poke, poke, poke the sleeping dog, and then when the dog bites them, they want to blame the dog!

and when a country responds, they HAVE to respond with excessive force. the idea is to make the retribution for an attack so extreme, that maybe the Palestinians won't attack again. if you get in a fight, do you fight fair? do you trade punch for punch, or do you try to incapacitate your opponent as swiftly and as efficiently as possible?

In my opinion, the Israelis have actually shown incredible restraint in dealing with people who want them dead every day!

we support isreal that is why we will never leave the middle east. now iraq was a good chance to employ troops . so besides Bushs other agendas we are now in,, that means we will NEVER leave. We will support Isreal untill the cows come home not because we love them it is because they are strtigicley placed. Lebenon was robbed by the Isreal people,, they had live there for thousands of years and then the Isreal people came, the british government gave it up to them and now you have it expaninisiom on the part of the isreal people gaza and so forth. Really how would you feel if a group of people came in and said by decree this area is ours now. You have a home there and they say you can stay but be careful because we are very suspecious of your kind youd be hot about it to.

Are you saying that to set up and run a farm is equivalent to purposley blowing up women and children?
The first can be criticized; the second has to be condemned.
Israel has offered Palestine 95% of what it claims to want. That's a pretty good deal, don't you think? But Palestine continues attacking Israeli civilians---not military targets.
Which neighbor would you prefer: the one who gives you 95% of what you ask for, or the one that takes everything you offer and still keeps shooting at your kids?

Ask yourself how Americans would react if as compensation for our involvement in Iraq a group of nations agreed to annex and give a large chunk of California to the displaced people of Iraq as their new homeland. Would that piss off the People who used to own that land and make it their homes? That's what happened to the Palestinian people when there land was stolen after WW2
